SALIVA Recruits Replacement While Singer Recovers
April 14, 2009The Pulse of Radio reports: Looks like SALIVA singer Josey Scott's recovery from ulcer surgery is taking longer than expected. According to their official website, SALIVA has recruited ex-SILVERTIDE frontman Walt Lafty to handle vocals for the group on the Snocore Tour, which the band will rejoin on Friday (April 17) in Sayreville, New Jersey. The site describes Lafty, who now sings in AUTOMATIC FIRE, as a friend, adding that Scott intends to get back together with the band after the Snocore dates are done.
Scott underwent emergency surgery on March 30 to repair a bleeding ulcer, forcing the band to cancel the first two weeks of its co-headlining stint on Snocore, which also features STATIC-X, BURN HALO and THE FLOOD.
Just a few months ago, Scott was celebrating almost a year sober and telling The Pulse of Radio he was feeling healthy and ready for the road. "I'm getting in shape," he said. "I've been working out and getting my body in shape, you know. I've got a lot of energy. Since I'm running on natural energy from my own body, I can hardly sleep at night. I'm really excited and can't wait to get back out there with the fans."
SALIVA is touring in support of its fifth major label album, "Cinco Diablo", which was released in December.
